North Devon based Ilfracombe RNLI are the charity that save lives at sea. Their new £2.2m lifeboat was funded entirely by donations and is capable of 25 knots, allowing their volunteer crew to reach those in distress more quickly and safely than the previous boat.
The station wanted to increase awareness of coastal safety, along with highlighting the lifesaving work of their volunteer crews. This is where Panoptic came in.
We completed a fully interactive virtual tour of the lifeboat station. Using our cutting-edge scanning technology, a full 3D model of the station and boats was produced. Perfect if you want to look around the boat but don’t want to get wet!
From standing on the inshore D-class lifeboat, to climbing down to the engine room of the Shannon lifeboat, you get a fantastic behind the scenes look at all the kit and tech used by the RNLI.
